Russia’s VimpelCom clients pay for Apple content from phone account
MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator VimpelCom, working under the Beeline brand, has become the first domestic operator enabling clients to pay for purchases at App Store, iTunes and Apple Music directly from a mobile phone account, the company said in a statement, seen by PRIME on Monday.
“The service of payment from an account of a mobile phone fully complies with our intention to be the most convenient and friendly connection operator in Russia, as we are sure that our clients will duly appreciate the option,” VimpelCom’s Executive Vice President for marketing Anastasiya Orkina said.
The service was launched in the country on December 3 for VimpelCom’s clients using post-pay and advance-pay tariff plans.
In order to exploit the service, a client has to enter Apple’s system via authentication and choose “a mobile phone” as a means of payment. The new option pops up automatically and does not need any additional registration.
